MMC refusing to record to some drives

After some time, a bit gets set and MMC refuses to record
to a drive. I can usually record to another drive.
There is plenty of disk space left.
Nero capture does not have this problem.

Is there a way to fix this?

I have the same problem trying to record to SATA drive from MMC 9.03.
(clicking the record button does nothing}. I can check "Always record
to temp drive" (IDE) and it will record fine then move the file to
SATA drive when recording completes.

No problems with IDE drive.
