MMC Issues

I have myself setup with an administrator account in XP. However, I cannot
use defrag- the error is, "MMC cannot open the file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\defrag.msc. This may be because the file does not
exist..."

The file is there, I have found it. I have typed in "regsvr32 msxml3.dll" in
the "run" prompt, and I got the message that it was started, etc. However, I
cannot run defrag.

I had previously installed SP3, and uninstalled it a few weeks later, due to
troubleshooting another issue. Is this part/or the whole problem?

My wife's admin account can run it, but mine can't. Any assistance is
greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It's possible it's due to the SP3 uninstall, although it seems unlikely. You
could check the event logs - and see what happens if you set up a new
account as a test.

FWIW, I'm not a huge fan of the built-in defrag tool. Check out the
excellent and free JKDefrag (you don't even install it; merely launch it).
