I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro. yesterday and
everything was working great all day long. I re-installed
all my software, MS Office, Publisher, Producer, and
Visual Studio 6.0. I also installed service pack 1a for
Win XP. Everything worked fine right up until I
completely got all the profiles set up. Once I thought I
was completely finished I tried to go into the User
Accounts icon in the control panel and it would not open,
so I just tried to right click the My Computer icon and
click manage. When I clicked 'Manage' an error appeared
that said (null) is not a valid Win32 application. I
then tried clicking on the Computer Management icon under
the Administrative Tools icon in the Control Panel and it
said C:\WINDOWS\system32\compmgmt.msc is not a valid
Win32 appplication. Every msc file I try to open says it
is not a valid win32 application. I have exhausted myself
trying to find a fix for this online so I thought I would
post this to see if anyone else recognizes this and knows
a way to fix it. I really don't want to re-install XP
since this is the reason I re-installed in the first
place. Surely I am not the only person to ever have this
problem!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
