PapaJohn \(MVP\)

Today is the first anniversary of my www.papajohn.org website. It has grown a lot over the year.....

It started with the need to help people with their 'problem-solving', when people got tired of me pasting the same long checklist as the response to many posts.... and will maintain that orientation as the problems continue or change...

The expansion of the website to become the online companion for the Do Amazing Things book balanced the problem-solving complexion.... many people are using MM2 to do those amazing things.

I look forward to a year in which we all share the movies that we make with Movie Maker 2, such as new site that Alan developed and announced yesterday.

Movie Maker 2 is certainly being supported by Microsoft and being used by the community.... As long as it is, I'll keep doing my part.

Hello Again,

You are still posting messages in the HTML format...please stop doing
this...it is very bad form you know and just not acceptable from an MVP

PapaJohn is creating a MIME multipart/alternative message which contains both text/plain and text/html content; Outlook Express has no problem displaying his message (it also has a "Read all messages in plain text" option). NNTP servers can remove the text/html part (adjusting headers as appropriate) if they so desire

Hi JDS,

I agree almost totally with everything you say...Outlook Express refers
to the format as HTML. But because I have pointed it out...Papajohn will not
change the settings....this is because he has demonstrated a complete lack
of knowledge in the past about how the Internet's basic tools work (In
Windows), and made himself look very foolish when his errors were first
pointed out in private but he replied in public making his usual silly
remarks in this area. One of his remarks was that he was OK he was behind a
router which had its own firewall...he does not seem to know about Port 80
and how easy it is to send innocent code that a virus catcher will not
catch...because on its own it is not a virus.

It is considered bad manners for one very important reason....If I
wished, and there have been one or two good examples in the last few days, I
could add a virus to the HTML code that is displayed and completely wreck
your computer...I could add spy bots or request information when you click
on any link I might include and you could end up being quite embarrassed by
it...as well as having the misfortune of having a spoilt system.

If you have not taken very specific action to stop me, I can send you
HTML formatted messages in this group and if you have one I can activate
your microphone and web camera..........

But, I would like to say thank you too you...for re-affirming what I
keep telling him...one of these days he will come down from the very flimsy
pedestal he sits on and actually do something about his embarrassing
performance....still it all goes in the not so little folder to be sent off
to the committee that will decide if his yearly position of MVP is to be
renewed or not.....I think that's what they call an Oxymoron (not sure of
spelling)

Best Wishes.....John Kelly

Lighten up. He's not sending you any viruses.
