MM2 Shuts Down after certain number of clips added to story board

I have been working on a movie. When I get to clip # 85, I get the
"Unexpected Error" problem. I thought maybe it was a memory problem so i
started a new
Project to finish adding clips, but I get the same "Unexpected Error" problem
after adding about 8 clips.
I have MM v 2.1, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB HD
I have read some of the other suggestions, but so far they have not helped.
Any new thoughts would be appreciated.
