I am running MM2 with XP Pro - the programme freezes
frequently when previewing a movie requiring Task Manager
to be used to close the program. Any suggestions as to
what to do to stop this would be appreciated. Thank you.
(The PC has 512MB of RAM and is using a dedicated 120GB
drive (partitioned into 4 drives) for the MM2 data.)

Hello John,

I have this problem too and have a suspicion that my graphics hardware is
not liked by MM2. I find that often the sound runs on even although picture
has stopped. Does that happen to you too?

What sort of graphics setup does your PC have - is it an Integrated Graphics
Controller or on a separate card?

Graeme,

Yes the sound keeps on going, but the video stops.
Graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX400. Very
frustrating. I have looked at www.papajohn.org but found
no solution so far.

Hi John,

That is very troubling to know that you have a separate graphics card as
opposed to an integrated one and still get exactly the same trouble I'm
having. It was my intention to fit a Geforce FX5200 onto a machine here to
see if that had any effect. I too have tried everything mentioned on
www.papajohn.org to no avail.

The bizarre thing is that I've demonstrated the same problem on Dell
machines straight out of the box and updated by the windows update site. You
are not using a Dell by any chance?

Graeme,

No, 'tis not a Dell - the PC is an otherwise extremely
reliable locally assembled (NZ) box with an Intel
motherboard. There must be others with this problem, does
anyone else out there have any comments / suggestions ?
