I've got a JVC GRD53 camcorder connected via USB. When I try to use
MovieMaker I get as far as the "Video Setting" page of the Video Captur
Wizard, but regardless of what setting I select, when I press "Next" I get
the following error message:

"An interface has too many methods to fire events from"

What can I do to get round this issue, as the software that came with the
camera (Pixela ImageMixer) has proved wholly inadequate

That message doesn't make sense, I know, but it normally comes up when
working with MPEG2 files.
As far as coming up during video capture this is the first time I've seen
that.

Oh, and WMM is specifically designed to work with Firewire connections...

So buy a PCI card if you need to and a Firewire cable...

Thanks everyone - I've bitten the bullet and invested in a FireWire card this
morning (£11.95 for card, cable & ULead software), so hopefully I'll be
editing my videos very soon

I agree, the firewire connection will "hopefully" solve your problem and it
is definitely the way to go with WMM.

just trying to find out if the firewire cable worked as i'm on the verge of
smashing my laptop and the camcorder in one swift kick. good camcorder but
what's the point of having 20 tapes in the draw. many thanks kim

If you are having the same issue Mr. Statto was then it is very likely that
the firewire connection will work. We recommend it constantly in the NG and
it constantly solves many if not all of the users video capture problems.
