Does anyone know of a way to use MM with a Dazzle DVC USB
Capture device? Seeing as I have an analog camcorder I
have to use some form of capture device. So far I haven't
found anyway of doing so but perhaps someone in the forum
has some suggestions.

Stan,

I am going to guess this device is just too old for MM.
Just a guess as I too have this device. As far as I know
the original software (MovieStar) when upgrading to XP,
made it so you could no longer capture with MovieStar in
XP. You could only edit existing video. So if there own
software won't work for capturing with XP, I doubt anybody
else (MM) will. But I've been wrong before. I have since
hopped on the tech bandwagon and broke down and purchased
a Sony TRV-460 which allows me to re-import my 8mm tapes
in the best (DV-AVI) format possible. Well as good as the
original anyway. I think the 260 is backward compatible as
well and cheaper. Otherwise you will be left with much
lower quality using USB. But if the new Dazzle products
are cheap as Papa suggests, thats your choice. I always
was disappointed with the whole Dazzle product from the
beginning. Good Luck.

Steve and Stan,

My weekly newsletter going out tomorrow will be about capturing with a
Dazzle 80 USB unit.... mixing the footage from my Hi8 camcorder with my
digital one into this video:

The digital camcorder was on a tripod set to take the stage scenes.... and I
walked around with the Hi8. I don't know if the quality of the 320x240
online video file is sufficient to see it. As the quality of analog material
is lower than digital, and the material isn't always going into high quality
DVDs, I think the Dazzle 80 has its place.

I've captured the same scene by dubbing it from the Hi8 camcorder to the
digital one and will be comparing the quality of the Dazzle with the DV-AVI
file from the dubbed copy.... but I'm not there yet.
