MM doesn't see my capture card

I am having a problem with my capture card. When I try to capture video from my vcr to my pc via my capture card I get the following message: No Capture hardware is available, or the hardware is not recognised

It was working perfectly before I installed a USB web camera. Now the capture software can only see the USB camera and not my capture card. I have also been doing some housework on my files so it could maybe have been something I have deleted which I shouldn't have. Do you have any ideas on how I could get my capture card back please

Hello there,

What type of capture card is it?

Does the card use USB?

How many devices can you see in the device manager, Web Camera and....

Movie Maker was not designed to capture full motion Video with USB. The USB
option was meant for still images.
 
Try capturing the analog video with the software that came with the card,
not with MovieMaker.
