I'm afraid not, analogue cards use there own codecs to capture to generally
and you need to use the app supplied with it.
What have you tried to help with the dropped frames.
Capture to a seperate hdd.
defrag before and after capture.
make sure plenty of free space on hdd, full drives are slower.
turn off ALL unneccesary apps, inc - internet, A-Virus, Firewall,
screensaver, powersave modes, etc.
What pc specs do you have, do you know the rpm speed of your hdd?

I have the Pinnacle Studio Deluxe with their capture box as well. I've
been trying since the day I got it to figure out how to make the wmm
recognize it. No one at Pinnacle seems to want to even talk to me about it.
It cost me over $600 for the program and drops frames so bad that it's not
usable to capture from an analog vcr. I'd like to use wmm to capture with
(as it couldn't do any worse). Then use Pinnacle Studio to edit the movie.
I too would like to know if there is a way to get wmm to recognizd the Pinnacle card.
package. The card is a FireWire card that has a breakout box to capture
analog video. This capture card works and is recognized in Studio 8 software
as a valid capture device, but when I try to run MM2 and capture video with
it, it does not show up in the list of available capture devices. The only
thing MM2 sees as a capture device is my Veo webcam. Pinnacle Studio 8 is a
great program and I like it a lot, but I thought I'd play around with MM2 a
bit to see what it can do - maybe fix the audio/video synch problem with
Studio.
