Greetings All, I have a P4 with rambus pc800 and have a opportuinity
to get some free ram. I would like to know if you can mix ram, pc800
40ns and pc800 45ns. I know I should open the case and pull a stick
and see which one I have installed. Still the question remains. if you
can help, please do . thanks in advance.

You dont want to mix RAM unless essential.

When using DDR2, it is essential to use pairs of identical sticks, and to adhere
to any basic limitations set by the MoBo mfgr. However, if you use 4 sticks, it
is only essential that each pair have the same specs (e.g., DDR21066 or PC2
8500). You can use different size sticks in each pair (e.g., 512 MB or 1 GB),
and you may even get away with different latencies.

I got the ram in question. It was pc800 45ns. It turns out that the pc
800 40ns is used in some servers. I installed the free ram and no
problems to report. Thanks for your advice.
