I have 3 computers. The two desktops run XP the laptop runs Vista. I just
today replaced my printer since Lexmark didn't make Vista drivers. I tried
to install the printer (or share as the case may be) on my home network which
is very rudimentry. The satilite feed comes into the router which is
connected via CAT 5 cable to one of the desktops. The other computers use
this arrangement to access the internet and print.
The desktop not attached via CAT 5 prints through the share arrangement.
The laptop (with Vista) can see the printer but but when trying to connect I
get the error message that there are no HP devices connected or available.
The laptop is the HP with Vista.
I would like to solve the printing problem or upgrade the laptop to XP (XP
is far better than Vista so I sould consider it an upgrade.) Which is easier
to do and how wouold one go about implementing the solution?
I would appreciate any and all assistance.
