Misspelled: I CAN'T access any search engine

Sorry, misspelled that in subject.

One more odd thing: Down in my notification area is a
brand new icon...looks like an e-mail envelope with a
magnifying glass over it. When I hover my mouse on it,
it says Norton Antivirus Email Protection. I believe I
have always had this email protection enabled, but have
never seen this icon.

Unable to access serach sites is symptom of one of the newer viruses.
Check at Norton's site.
