HI all :)
i recently installed Visio 2007. After install all of my xml file lost
their icon.
I tried to re-associate the file with Visual studio (or explorer, or
else...) but still the icon doesn't return. (i tried to reboot after
the change).
Does somebody known how to fix this?

In the same issue (by different) - I also lost drive C icon and can't
restore it as well...any thoughts?

Thanks,
GoRide

Hi,

See if this command helps. From Start/Run, type:

regsvr32 msxml3.dll

Press Enter.

I also lost drive C icon

Check if a file named autorun.inf is present in the C:\ drive. If so, delete the file and restart Windows.

Hi,
Ramesh - thanks for the help. registering the dll helped after
restart.
However, i dont have autorun file in drive C so this is still a
problem.
Thanks Anyway for your tip :)

Hi GoRide,

The Autorun.inf may be kept hidden. Make sure you configure explorer to show hidden files and check for the autorun.inf file again. If Autorun.inf is really missing, then check this page:

Incorrect or generic Windows icon displayed for a Drive in My Computer:
