Not quite sure to post this in the WSUS group, but I will give it a shot.
When creating a GPO for WSUS on a 2000 server, some of the options that I see
on a 2003 server are not there. Most noticably:

Do not display 'Install Updates and Shut Down' option in Shut Down Windows
dialog box

Do not adjust default option in 'Install Updates and Shut Down' option in
Shut Down Windows dialog box

What would cause these two options not to display in the Windows Update GP
setup on a 2000 server?

Howdy Curtis!

These two options belong to Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Since
Windows 2000 came out a little bit earlier, it doesn't know about these
"features" at all. You now have two options:

a.) Edit the GPs from a Windows XP (SP2) or Windows Server 2003 (SP1).
b.) Go and import (copy) the *.adm files from %systemroot%\inf of a
Windows XP/Windows Server machine to the Windows 2000 Server.

You also might want to download the GPMC (Group Policy Management
Console:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...24-8CBD-4B35-9272-DD3CBFC81887&displaylang=en
)to manage your group policies, as some settings will not show up under
Windows 2000 even if you imported the newer adm-templates.

cheers,

Florian
