Missing WAN Miniports (IP) (L2TP) (PPOE) etc.

Hello,
I was having problems working with a certain computer
trying to get it to VPN into a server correctly, and
noticed I do not have any of the above WAN Miniport
drivers on it that usually show up when you 'view hidden
devices' (and things like a VPN connection are bound to).

How do I re-install these WAN Miniports without an OS
reinstall? Is there a way to do it? I have attemped an OS
repair from the CD, to no avail. I cannot locate the .INF
files to selectively install the WAN Miniports either.
Can anyone render assistance?

Thanks,
Arthur

I believe I have some additional info, the 'things' I
need to install are in 'netrasa.inf', but I cannot Add
the New Hardware even if I select the file from the 'Add
New Hardware Wizard'.

How would I MANUALLY install these? XP will not let me
install them myself, should I try in safe mode?

I think it may have been uninstalled in the 'Update to a
fake/false/wrong driver then uninstall' method we usually
use for drivers the can't be removed because they
are 'Required for boot-up'. I think someone may have
confused this WAN for the 'America Online WAN' adapter,
and removed it while cleaning up the system of chat
programs, dial-ups, etc.

I will send you an e-mail promptly then if this can fix
it. It may also be responsible for why the user could not
dial into our systems.

Any idea how they became uninstalled?

The only way I know to restore these is with rarepair.exe. If you send me
email at (e-mail address removed) I can send you a copy.
