Missing User from the sign on page

When I turned on my computer today, one of the users is missing from the sign
on page. I tried to recreate the user, but it recognizes the profile as
existing. I'm using Windows XP, anyone have an idea what's happened? I've
been the only one here for this last month so no one could have deleted it.
 
Maybe the account has been switched off or password expired?

Log in as an administrator and go to Control Panel -> User accounts.

All your accounts will be listed there and you can see what is what.

Thanks, but I have gone to the Contol Panel and pulled up User accounts. This
user is no longer listed.
