My xp had an administrator user icon. I added another account named Rie. When I turned off and turned on my machine, administrator icon was gone. How do I get it back???
XP was designed to do that. Microsoft recommends that you don't use the administrator as your daily user account in the event your system crashes and you need to restore settings. You can retrieve the admin account if you boot in safe mode (hit F8 a couple times during boot up when the monitor scrolls through start up commands). Once in safe mode you can delete the new user you created and start over....

Thank you very much........we have been using the administrator for several months now...it's only become a problem when I put on a new account....will all the information fromt he administrator go directly to the new account or do I have to move it some how???? We have several programs that didn't look like they transfered to my new icon.
