Missing user account (Too many bad password attempts)

How can i Re-activate an account that's been locked and seems to have
disappeared completely because i tried to log in too many times with a bad
password?

I logged in under administrator but even then, the account seems to have
completely disappeared. The files are still there (But not accessible!).

How can i re-activate this acount?

Windows XP pro, by the way

It sounds like the account has been disabled. Go to User Management
under Administrative Tools and enable it. Then examine your
password/lockout policy.
