Missing txtbox in subform?

D

Dustin

Hello,

I created a subform and selected master and child links. But when the wizard
finishes nothing is there but the subforms background color. So I opened up
the just the subform from the Forms section of access and the txtboxes were
there and I could make records.

I've done many subforms before and have never had this problem.

The only thing that is different is that I am doing it on someone elses
computer and the first time I selected where to put the subform it told me I
had to install something. It said the following: Microsoft Access can't start
this wizard. This feature is not currently installed would like to install it
now? Yes or No. And I did, so I don't know if this what is the problem or not.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dustin

Does your main form have its AllowEdits property set to No, by any chance?
Access would interpret that to mean that you can't change any data on the
subform, either, and that would cause Access to display a blank subform
whenever there are no existing records for the subform to display.

That was it! It was the allow edits on the main form. It was set to no
becasue I had created a edit record button but didn't add the subform to the
event.

Thanks Dustin
