Missing the general tab from tools/internet options

A few days ago I had several pop-up windows pop up while I
was on, after I got rid of them I noticed that when I went
to tools/internet options the general tab was missing. All
the rest, Security, Privacy, Content, Connections, and
Advanced are there but General is not. How can I restore
this and what caused it if you know. I am not so much
interested in the cause as hwo to restore so if you know
how to retore please let me know.

Refer Fix 268 from Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Restores all tabs in IE and removes all the browser restrictions.

The main cause is spyware/browser hijackers. Download Ad-Aware from

www.lavasoftusa.com and eliminate the spyware.
