Hi,

On my Windows 2000 Pro French SP4 stations, none of my users see the text
(Beside Header and Footer) when printing from IE6.

The users do not have any admin rights. What I did found out was when
printing IE6 uses the C:\Winnt\TEMP folder which is the path showed in the
Footer . By default users do not have access at all to this folder.

I tested it out with admin rights and it works. So I manually added
Everyone\Full Access to only the Temp folder to resolve the issue. Is this
normal behavior? If not I need help in understanding what's going on.

Thank you
Gabriel

Hi Falcon1,

I am only guessing, but it appears to me that this is what I would expect
windows to do... Make a tempory copy of a file to be printed so that it can
be spooled to the printer without locking the actual file that is to be
printed.

I am not sure but there is probably a key in the registry that specifies
where these temp print files are written to. Sounds like it may be the users
download folder which you can specify with Group Policy. Try searching the
registry for that value.

Regards.

Hi Rob,

That was kind of what I though, I was hoping to not have to go through the
registry, multiples haystack and only 1x needle to find. I went through it
but I did not find anything that was be very clear as to if it was what I'm
looking for. Well it was still worth asking. For now I'll settle with
giving permission only to that folder.

Thank you for your help!
Gabriel
