Missing systems tools

I do not and can not find system information or restore
point in programs, accessories, system tools, all I have
is "character map". In add and remove programs I
uninstalled "Accessories and Utilities" and reinstalled
them from the cd, but it did nothing again but put
character map back in. The only way I can get system info
and restore point is through "help and support" Does
anyone know whats going on here!!! HELP HELP

Here is one way to solve your problem
In my XP home, System Tools is in(do a search)
?:\documents and settings\all users\start
menu\programs\accessories

When you see your own system tools with Char Map in it,
right click below that and go New-> Shortcut...
To create shortcuts, see below; replace system root
with ?: where ?= dive letter of your operating system.
You need " s if there are embedded blanks. you can browse
for the executable and tool will do it for you.


Activate Windows:%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A
Character Map: %SystemRoot%\System32\charmap.exe
Disk Defrag: %SystemRoot%\System32\dfrg.msc
Disk Cleanup: %SystemRoot%\System32\cleanmgr.exe
System Info: "?:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe"
System Restore: %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe
