I just uinstalled the BETA on my 7th machine and this
time I cannot see nor run any of the system Explorers in
the Advanced Tools. The box on the left is empty...

What other security or antivirus tools are in use on this box. Any of them
unique (i.e. different from the other 6?)

Give this a try:
Open up control panel and double-click on add/remove programs.
Select Microsoft AntiSpyware
Select "Change"
On the Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard, click next.
On the next screen (Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard) select Update
Microsoft AntiSpyware and click next.
Select Install
Let the product update.
Click Finish.

From Arianae:
If that doesn't work, try logging in with the
Administrator account. I've run into several issues
where even though my account is a member of the
Administrator group, only the Administrator account
itself has done the trick. As a matter of fact, I just
had to fix a disappearing XP clock with it even though
the user was an admin.

Please document the name of EVERY application on this box and then install
the latest VB6 service pack update from MS and let us know if your problem
is fixed. If it is, we need to note what was installed on the machine that
may be messing with VB6 runtime files.

just intstalled the "Visual Basic 6.0 SP5: Run-Time
Redistribution Pack" and I now have my system explorers
back,

Excellent news--thanks for posting this.

I'd still love to know what antivirus or security applications you have
running--particularly any that came in Yellow boxes?
