missing start menu icon and others........

Hi - Since deleting a nasty virus and a key entry frommy
registry - i have booted up and noticed the main start
button icon is missing and also when i get an error
message of any kind such as when i try to close a file and
get the prompt 'to save or not' the icon is missing
fromthat dialogue box....

anyone have any idea how i can restore them?
Perhaps i deleted them as they were infected with the
virus?

i'm stumped :(
any help appreciated :)
 
What happens if you logon as a new user? (create a new account in 'Users and
Passwords')

In my opinion,you have got to copy an "explorer.exe" from another
computer whose OS is the same as you. (perhaps the"Shell32.dll" is needed)
Because major systematic icons are in the "explorer.exe"
