missing sound icon

I am editing a ppt presentation that has narration added. I need to delete the narration but no sound icon appears as usual in the lower right corner of the page. I can not find any way to delete the narration

Do the sounds appear in the Custom Animation dialog (or taskpane, if you
are using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003)? If so, you can use the dialog/pane to
turn off the automatic playing of the sounds.
