Hi,

I'm a new sysadmin for a small organization. The previous admin had disabled
the Security tab in IE 6 on the users desktops. I've since disabled the
script that runs when users logon, but I my question is how can users
restore the Security tab in IE so that they can change their security
settings? I've tried re-installing but this has no effect. Is there
something in the registry that needs to be changed/added? Thanks very much
in advance.

Reset the Internet Explorer tabs and remove all the browser restrictions.
Download the script from:

Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IE_reset_restrictions.reg

Also, refer Fix 268 from Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Restore All tabs in IE and Removes the ** Internet Options ** Restrictions
as well

The problem is due to a spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com,
scan the system and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix
if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware *
