I built a database 4 year ago and installed it for a customer. They had the
only copy of it. I have since gottten a copy back from them to do some
updating but they must have placed a security file because I get the you do
not have premission to open this file error message. Is there a way around
this ???

Hi.
they must have placed a security file because I get the you do
not have premission to open this file error message.

Ask the customer for a copy of the secure workgroup information file, and
the User ID and password of a member of the Admins group, preferrably the
"database owner," which is the User ID logged on with when the secure
database was created.

If ULS has been applied then you need either the workgroup file (cheap) or a
hacking tool (expensive).
