Missing reference to ADO 2.7

I have a Powerpoint 2000 file with a macro that uses the Microsoft
ActiveX Data Objects 2.7 library. It works fine on my PC. When I go to
references it shows up no problem. The problem is when I go to another
PC the reference is missing and the macro won't run. I tried running a
VB6 setup program that contains the ADO 2.7 reference but it still
says it's missing. The actual file is called msado15.dll. This dll
exists on the other PC and in the registry on the other PC but it
still says "Missing" from inside of Powerpoint under references.

Any ideas?

Chuck.

If the dll is truly installed on the other PC then, in References,
unclick the one that is missing and scroll down and find the one that
is registered on that machine and click that. This happens to me with
a reference to a PPT addin that I share with several computers. I
always have to reset it.

Never mind. I downloaded a newer version of MDAC_TYP.EXE that contains
ADO 2.7 and that fixed it.

It must not have been installed. Under references it only shows ADO
2.0 and ADO 2.1. I downloaded the latest MDAC_TYP.EXE and that fixed
it.

That MDAC_TYP.EXE is a terrible system by the way. I hope they don't
do that in .NET which I am in the process of switching to.

Thanks!

Chuck.
