I had a similar incident and I finally used the advanced find
to clean out the culprit which turned out to be a combination
of problems. It turned out to be the client had a corrupt forms
cache and when she made an appointment the appointment
form somehow changed into a Note form.
The Note form could not be seen by Outlook in the Calendar
however the appointment information was retained and it held
the spot as if the appointment was valid. Very Strange.
Open Outlook
Select the Calendar folder
Press <F3> (advanced find)
In the "Look for:" text box select "Any type of Outlook item"
Click the BROWSE... button
Turn Off the check mark on everything and only turn on the
check mark next to CALENDAR
Click OK
Sort by icon and look for something that looks different than the rest.
If you find it, delete it.
Then Clean out your forms cache.
If you close outlook.
Perform a FIND (click on desktop and press <F3>)
(If you are using XP or W2K operating system be sure to look in hidden
files)
Look for FRMCACHE.DAT file.
Delete it from the find window.
Restart Outlook.
When you restart Outlook it will rebuild a fresh new
FRMCACHE.DAT file
Outlook uses forms on everything. It could be that
somehow the FORMS CACHE is retaining incorrect
form information.
Then just for good measure I would probable run the
"...\CleanFreeBusy" and the "...\CleanReminders" switches.

Nikki Peterson [MVP - Outlook]
Sorry to repost this but I cannot find any information on how to correct
this. Our consultant doesn't know how to fix it, either. I haven't been
able to get reminders due to an error
message that pops up when I start Outlook. The message
says it can't find the information for a recurring
appointment. I cannot delete the appointment because it
says it can't find the information. It is a vicious
circle. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this
appointment?
Thank you!
