Missing reactions from Contacts Address Book

As a former user of Netscape and Outlook Express, I am really frustrated when I am addressing the "TO" and "COPY" boxes in Outlook 2003. I am used to have one or more suggetions from the address book after touching the first couple of characters, but at Outlook 2003, there is normally no reaction at all, even if I fill out the whole name.
If I then move the cursor from the field, the computer starts working heavely, and after many seconds it either returns a correct result, or in many cases only a red line under my newly typed name, even though the name is in the book
Resently I have observed address suggestions in blue for addresses that have been resently used
Anyone with the same problem? Please help if you know how

P.S. The box "Suggest names ......" under "Advanced e-mail alternatives" has been checked.

Autocomplete does not use your address book. It uses a
cache created from
the messages you send. You'll have to send messages before
you'll see
autocomplete kick in.
