just show me the money!

Thanks for the replies guys, here is what I just discovered.
On my system there is a utility (put there years ago) called Clean
ram,and guess what it reserves 460k of ram!!
I have never compared the reported figures before as there has never
been any need but it must have been there all the time.
The question is how do I remove it as I cannot find an uninstall for
it?

Try Autoruns from the MS Windows SysInternals site:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx
This will show all apps/etc. that load/run when you first boot and
selectively allow you to stop any that you don't want, in this case look for
that memory utility which most likely loads when you boot, then un-check it
to stop it from loading. You should also be able to see the name of the file
and where it resides on the hard disk.

Move it to a different location and you should discover what is starting
it based on what the error says.

Locate the files for the utility and rename them.

Good luck
