missing program icon

I am trying to install an older program and cannot get the program icon on
the desktop. It uses a default Windows icon instead. I tried
Properties/Change Icon but get a message that the application file has no
icons. When I install the program on my MS ME and XP machines, I can find
the icon in its .exe file. The program is WinPack Full Install Version 6.80
at http://www.winpack.org.uk/ .

Do you know it's Vista compatible?
