Missing Print to File Port

When I go to Add a Printer and see the listing of ports
(e.g. LPT1: Local Port, COM1: Serial Port, etc.), there is
another port called FILE: Print to File. It is missing
and I cannot find anywhere how to add it back in. I tried
creating a dummy port, but the dummy port then acts like a
printer and not print to file which is what I need.
Anyone know?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Check to see if you have a REG_SZ value of File in the following regitry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports

If not, either try to add it back in or import it from a system that does have it listed.

Just add a new "Local port" and give it the name FILE:
