Missing Prevx

Recently Lost My Icon On Desktop For Prevx .... Not Only That Cant Find It In Add/remove Progs Or In Start/all Progs....
Tried 2 Reinstall Prog And It Tells Me Prevx Already Installed And Goes No Further..... How Do I Delete / Find Prog To Delete It So Can Reinstall????
It Really Doin My Head In!!!
Pleeeeeeeeeeease Help.
 
Have you looked in Start > Search

or Start > My computer > Program Files
 
Prevx is a scanner for malware, it's generally quite good at detecting all known nasties, and even those not known, it still picks up malicious code within executables.

Just so I understand, you have looked in the c:\program files\prevx directory and there is only a 1k file there - or was that 1k file a shortcut located somewhere else?
