I'm currently running Vista RC2 which has been fine for months. But tonight,
I booted into Vista and clicked on "Windows Picture Gallery" and all the
default pictures and 3 videos are missing. Can someone tell me how to
recover them?

THANKS!

Both those folders are empty including the "Pictures\Sample" sub-folder.

I've done a search on the Vista DVD for "video", "*.mpeg" and "*.wmv" and
likewise on Vista "C:\drive", including system and hidden files and none
were found.

What next?

Andre: It's been awhile since I've done an install of Vista, thus my
question here. I'm going to assume that you are recommending that I boot
with the Vista DVD and choose "Install". At some point in the process can I
expect to find an option to "upgrade" or something similar which will not
wipe out my installed applications and personal data?

THANKS!

Yes, during the installation wizard you will be given the option to upgrade
overy our existing installation. If its greyed out, it possibly means you do
not have enough disk space to hold temporary files needed for installation.
But if it is provided, the upgrade option will save all your application
files and settings.
