I have installed a Ultra DMA 5 controller and because it
did not like the WD 60 gb drive I had to get a Maxtor 60
gb drive and installed Windows 2000 on it and all my
apps. I also put on service pack 4 and all the critical
and reqd fixes. When I got done with the install, I put
the WD drive in as the secondary controller, but then my
C: drive became E: and the WD drive became C:. When I
tried to changed the dirve letter on my CD to M: and the
WD drive to D:, I rebooted as the drive manger said I had
to for the change to take effect. After I rebooted, I get
message that the pagefile is missing or too small to go to
property of My Computer and make the pagefile larger.
That would be great if I get to My Computer. I tried the
recover console and looked through my Windows 2000 Pro
learning series book but can not find out how to fix this
problem. Does anyone know how I can get the system
working again without installing windows 2000 and all my
software again. How can I recreate a pagefile?

Try going to the system icon in control panel. Choose
advanced tab performance options and change virtual
memory. This should allow you to assign the drive letter.

I would if I could. I can't get to anything. I can only
run the recovery console. I have also tried copying a
file to c: directory as pagefile.sys and then rebooting
normal but that gives the same results, on boot all I get
is the message box that the pagefile is missing or too
small.
