The boot menu appears but then I get the following message;
"Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or
corrupt...Ntoskrnl.exe"
I've read KB article 124550. I was only able to try "Method 1" (tried to
boot using a bootable disk). But I'm unable to use the other resolutions
because I don't have an ERD.
I am able to use the W2k CD to access Recovery Console. The boot.ini appears
to be correct. I am now running CHKDSK for lack of knowing anything better
to do.
I'm unable to open WINNT or any other directory. Shouldn't I be able to?
When I use LOGON command nothing seems to happen.
This problem started after the user shut down the system using the power
on/off button.
What else can I do?
Should I use an ERD created on a similar machine?
Could FIXBOOT help?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks
