I have a Windows 2000 SBS System that just decided not to
boot any more. The message at boot is that the file
(windows\system32\config\SYSTEM is corrupted or missing),
I have tried to restore using the CD and The 'R' command
with no luck.

I need help, has anybody got any ideas about what I could
try to get the system to boot again?

Thanks,

Lee

Hi, Lee.

Have a look at this KB article:
Error Message: Windows Could Not Start Because the Following File Is Missing
or Corrupt: \Winnt\System32\Config\System.ced
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=269075

(The KB never bothers to explain that the ".ced" is not actually a part of
the error message; it's just an artifact left over on the screen from the
previous message which is not overwritten.)
