Missing logical disk unit

I Have a partioned disk and one of the logical units just disappeared
along with its content. This has also happened some time ago and them
i've made a system restore and the "missing unit" appeared.
Now this problem happened again and the restore doesn't work as it does
not restore that unit.
Do you know how i can solve this problem?
And why has it happened in the first place?

It's hard to imagine many scenarios whereas a Windows system restore would
have any effect on the visibility of one logical volume. Do you have Goback
installed? What, if any, events lead up to this?
