Hi

I use xp pro sp2 and my start menu doesnt have the option to 'list my most
recently opened documents' in under start, properties, customise, advanced.
The check box simply doesnt exist.

I have tried to enable the listing using regedit but that hastn't worked
either.

Any help would be appreciated - even to restore the start menu to its
default so that I can work from there.

Thanks

Doug

Hi Doug,
Try running the edit on line 55 left side.

Hi I tried that - didnt work - that only seems to operate on the registry
key and sets it to '2'. The registry key is already set to 2 which is the
enabler for the check box, but I cannot even see the check box!

Thanks

Hi Alan

No I am using the normal xp start menu - not the classic one.

I am hoping for some method to reset the start menu to default settings or
to work out how to edit the registry to make the recent list appear option
appear again.

No real idea but I would try setting to Classic and later reverting to
the XP start menu and see if it appears.

Your 'guess' turned out to be the answer that worked. A guess from a genius
is the same as gospel from the common man!!

Thanks for you help.
