Missing Links and Images

This is a repeat problem for me, but unfortunately the
problem was corrected on a marathon phone call and I don't
remember the exact solution.

I use FrontPage 2000 to edit and publish my website. I
recently added another page/link to my index page, but
when I went back to view the site using IE6, some of my
images and links are no longer visible using the same
computer that I used to make the changes. They look just
fine using another computer, also with IE6. There are no
red "x" or anything where the missing images/hyperlinks
should be...just blank space.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with FP 2002 and here's the issue
on it: Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 275295
_NOTE: This work around DOES NOT WORK!!!

SYMPTOMS
When you add a link to a subweb in the Quick Launch bar
of a SharePoint team Web site, or when you add a link to
the Custom Link bar of a FrontPage Web with FrontPage
2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft, the link may not
appear on the page. The link that is added appears in
normal view and in preview, but it does not appear when
you actually go to the page by using your browser.
CAUSE
The Link Bar Properties dialog box is not writing the
complete URL of the subweb.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following
methods.
SharePoint Team Web Site
Switch to navigation view in FrontPage.
Right-click the SharePoint Left Quick Launch Navbar page,
and then click Add Existing Page.
In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, type the URL of the
subweb.
FrontPage Web
Switch to navigation view in FrontPage.
Right-click Home Page or the page that displays the link
bar, and then click Add Existing Page.
Click Current Folder, and then click the subweb or page
in the subweb that you want to link to.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the
Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of
this article.

While typing this reply, one of the troubleshooting
techniqued we used before came back to me, and this did
work. For each missing image/hyperlink, I went to the
image in FP2K and deleted the hyperlink, saved the page,
refreshed my IE6, reinserted the hyperlink, saved the
page, and once again refreshed IE6. As a "user" I don't
know why that works, but it does.

Thanks to all for trying to help.

FYI: Many Windows XP and IE6 and NS6+ users will not be able to navigation
your web since you are using Java Applets (Hover button). You may want to
consider using plain text hyperlinks or JavaScript image swapping to
accomplish something similar to Java Hover button applet.

Thanks, Thomas...I appreciate that tip. I had no idea (I
use Win2K); I'll try to fix that in the near future.
