Missing Lines in printed reports

One of my users has reported that none of the lines are
showing up on printed reports. The data appears, but on
the printed reports, lines should be appearing for users
to write information in manually and they are no longer
appearing.

The lines do appear in preview mode, just not when printed.

Has anyone else encountered a "sudden" change like this?

They are using the same printer as before the
lines "disappeared".
 
The end user may not have changed their printer but they have either:
1) Changed a setting in their original printer driver - probably to a
lower resolution or decreased the intensity(darkness/lightness).

2) Installed an updated printer driver with default settings different
from their original driver's settings(see #1).
