Missing key on keyboard -- solved

Thanks for your help guys.

I figured out why the '3' would not work on my number pad. I used Dragon
naturally speaking a lot. One of its "hotkeys" is a '3' to turn the
microphone on and off. When I deleted Hotkey, the three worked again.

So, it looks like I have a new old keyboard.

Well, good grief. Did the software set this up? If yes, it's configuration
should be changed so that less commonly used keys are assigned. Or was this
something you chose? If yes, the program should be changed to pop up a help
screen and/or a warning advisory to help the user avoid this situation.

Anyhow, glad to hear that you have this sorted and thanks for taking the
time to post the outcome. Hopefully, it will help others to avoid the same
pitfall.
