When I boot up my computer, I receive a RUNDLL error
stating that I am missing the file C:\WINDOWS\image.dll

The only files I have deleted recently are those found
through recent scans using Spybot S&D and Ad-Ware.

Is this a file I need to replace? If not, how do I stop
this error from appearing? Thanks!

I saw the website below and followed the instructions.
However, my anti-virus software did not find any files,
and when I looked for the registries listed, I couldn't
find any values that matched what was listed ("Update"
or "Image").

Yet I still receive the error message upon restarting.
Any further suggestions?

Remove this spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from
www.security.kolla.de and Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to
update these programs before running them. It is best to run antivirus
and spyware removal tools in Safe Mode. These programs are free, so run
them both since they complement each other.

I had the same problem even after running Ad-aware and
following the registry key removal directions from
Symantec.

I found one additional entry in the registry that relates
to the image dll file. Do a search in your registry
for "image.dll" (no quotes), and you may find something
that includes words "install" and "image.dll". Deleting
that registry key got rid of the problem for me.

That said - make sure to back up the registry key first,
just in case. Hope this helps. :)
