Missing IE Desktop Icon

Recently, my IE desktop icon disappeared and I can't seem
to figure out how to get it back. When I go into
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced there is not a checkbox
for "Show Internet Explorer on the desktop". Any ideas?
 
Which version of Windows are you using? Try right-clicking on the desktop, choosing Properties,
Desktop, Customize Desktop.
