Missing Icons In The Taskbar

The programs are running when looking at Task Manager, but the icons are not
showing in the lower right panel, next to the time etc. If I log off then
back on again it seems that they all then appear. Anyone have any ideas
why?

I am using XP Home with all patches up to date

BTW I don't have the hide inactive icons feature enabled

That area is called your System Tray. See if it is simply
resizing itself and covering the icons. Also, make sure
any proggies you want to show up there have (Show Icon in
System Tray) enabled in thier settings.

It doesn't and I have, as they all appear again if I log off and back on.
Thanks for the correct name, couldn't remember. Should have gone to the
taskbar properties to find out
