Hello

When I'm in Computer Management, from the menu bar, I click Help then Help
Topics but no help ever shows up.

Did I miss a module?

Thanks

By default all help files excluded from the XPe build.
Using section <Other settings> in configuration <Settings> you can clear the
<Do not copy help files for this configuration> checkbox. But adding help
files can significaly increase size of XPe image.

That is my biggest complaint about Embedded, that the help files are
missing. On a windows XP pro sp2 the C:\windows\help folder is only 60meg.
I don't understand how you can sell a product and decide not to include the
help files by default.

I'd be interested to know the reasoning behind this, and weather or not
people would be more concerned about missing help files, or the extra 60meg.

Jason,

60MB is huge if you are trying to fit something on a 128MB compact flash and
because of the additional you have to step up to 256MB flash.

With XPe you are normally building an Embedded device and your end
customer/user would never need to use XP help. By default, XPe developers
usually want the image as small as possible and build up from there.

Well the people whose images come to abuot 100MB without the help files
would probably be bothered...

Jason,

You may want to re-read Stas Pavlov's reply - the help files aren't
missing, they are just not included in an XPe build by default. If you
want help files included in your build, clear the appropriate check box.

Dave
