missing hard drives

i was using my sd card for developing my digital pictures.............went
two weeks without using it.........then went to use it................found
my computer had all of a sudden deleted my removable drives.............i
have an e-machine that has slots on the front.........for removable
drives.............now i can only use my floppy and cd...............how do i
get my other ones back......??

Time to do some diagnostics. Are the other USB ports working
with other USB devices such as jumpdrives, USB cameras, etc.?
In both the back of the computer and the front panel or just
the back panel or nowhere? If USB is no longer functioning,
then it might be necessary for repairs. Still under warranty?
