I had Win XP installed and then added Win Vista Home Premium as a new install
and not an upgrade.
On setting up the system and adding all programs and such, ran in to a
problem.
I am missing a 300g harddrive.
I can see to in Device manager but not in My Computer. I have not unplugged
the drive and replugged it in but wanted to know what or if someone else has
run into this problem.
I also have a couple of items in Device Mgr that needs updated drivers I
think:
Multimedia Audio Controller, RAID Controller and PCPB006 device?
I have an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium MB, did not see any Vista drivers for this
board on their site.
I dont use RAID. Not sure what the PCPB006 device is that is being referred
to.

Did you partition and format the drive yet? Right-click Computer in the
Quick Launch (or start menu) and choose Manage. In the Computer Management
window, click Disk Management. In the window to the right, select the
missing drive, right-click and choose New Simple Volume. Accept all the
defaults in the wizard.

It is listed as Dynamic but Offline. I can look at the properties and it says
that it is working fine but can not be seen by Visat.
It is a Western Digital 3200JB drive, 300gb.
I looked and did not see a driver to add on their web site.

Format it and assign it a drive letter.

Thanks.
Not exactly what I wanted to hear.
I wanted a quick and easy fix so I dont loose data.
When I right click on the device in Drive Mgr, I see Properties, Convert To
Bsic Disk and Help.
These are the only 3 items I can see as options to choose.
What does Convert to Basic Disk do?
